County Clerk opening office in Boonville
A one-day-a-week satellite office is being opened in Boonville by County Clerk Sandra J. DePerno. She opened a similar part-time operation last month in the Sherrill Municipal Building. It runs on Thursdays.
Starting June 5, the part-time Boonville office will operate in the town office building on Route 12. Staff will be in Boonville one day a week, on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
"The office will encompass a majority of the services that our constituents in Northern Oneida County had to travel to Utica or Rome to obtain," she said.
Department of Motor Vehicle services available in Boonville will include driver’s license renewals, registration of a vehicle, registration renewals, transfer of license plates and surrender of license plates, as well as all others offered at the DMV offices in Rome and Utica.
Also, the Boonville location will process passport applications and renewals, plus passport photographs, as well as the filing and recording of deeds and mortgages.
After the Sherrill office was set up, four county legislators wrote to DePerno asking she investigate the feasibility of opening satellite operations in Boonville, Camden, and Bridgewater.
